It’s NBA draft day 2010. A day many Jazz fans have been looking forward to for six years. It’s finally time to cash in on that New York lottery pick. Stay tuned with us here at the Bot throughout the day as we will try to fill the day with pretty much anything we can [...]

Draft Day Trades

Jazz aren’t part of the many draft day trades that occur, although this year may prove different.  Jazz owning the 9th pick in the draft and the large expiring contract of AK 47 things have the potential to be a little different this year for the Jazz.
Many trades have been discussed on this website, twitter [...]

Help Save The NBA

I guess the NBA is losing money,  however with upper-bowl seats at the Lakers-Boston game going for nearly $1,000 a piece I am not sure how. These stats  came from a recent article in Parade Magazine.
I know Parade is no one’s sports bible but with a  circulation  of 32 million as opposed to the 3 million [...]

When the Jazz first moved from New Orleans to Salt Lake City, they played in an arena so small it didn’t even have an upper bowl.  Seating just 10,725 when it opened—and later expanding to more than 12,000—the Salt Palace hardly seemed big enough to host an NBA team.  In stepped Larry Miller.  The same [...]

KOC Part 2: Drafting Skills

In my previous post, I introduced the topic of Kevin O’Connor and the criticisms typically levied upon him by some Jazz fans.  The first of the three criticisms that I discussed in that post concerned the draft:
Kevin O’Connor hasn’t been successful at drafting quality players and has missed some stars in his time with [...]

The story is told that a casual friend to the late Larry H. Miller asked him who the Jazz would be looking at in an upcoming NBA Draft. Larry responded by saying that there was a player out there that was absolutely fantastic, and since he played at a smaller school, not many teams were [...]

While the Finals have been very entertaining, the anticipation for the much-awaited #9 pick is mounting each passing day (perhaps if it wasn’t the Lakers and the Celtics playing, I’d be more into the championship series). Will it be Monroe, Udoh, Babbitt, Aldrich, Henry, or the amazingly candid Whiteside (his interview was…wow. That’s [...]

History Repeating

Part of the moment we’ve been waiting for is now behind us and the Jazz have officially unveiled their new colors and “secondary” (but planned to be more prominent) logo. Despite the colors and concept having been leaked around the internet for months, a slight shocker may have been the organizations decision to keep the [...]

Yesterday’s unveiling of the “new” Jazz logo brought back a flood of memories for me.  Most of my memories come in a stream of consciousness format.  Hey,  speaking of sparking memories, have you heard the new Devo song? They were on t.v. after the Laker/Celtic game.   See that’s how it works.  So back to [...]

Signing Matthews

Wesley is a fan and Jazz management favorite.
What a great pick up!
He was a big part of why the Jazz traded Brewer’s contract for salary/tax relief and a protected 1st round pick. He’s just that good!
Matthews is a restricted, NON Bird, free agent.
The Jazz can resign him, but are limited, because he is [...]

The Araujo Mistake

Rafael Araujo is probably one of the 10 biggest busts of all time. He’s been named in many articles as such, and he simply added no value to Toronto after being picked #8 in 2004. He did get traded for Kris Humphries, who was slightly better in that he is still in the NBA. There’s [...]
